Welcome to the treacherous and tumultuous world of Ember Sword, set on the moon of Thanabus – a land where danger lurks around every corner, and the brave reap rewards. You are about to embark on a daring adventure in Solarwood, one of the once-thriving Nations of Thanabus, now a realm of chaos and opportunity following the devastating Flux storm.

What is Early Access?

Think of Early Access as the first cut of Ember Sword’s Solarwood - a slice that’s still building, gritty, and full of potential. We’ve levelled up from the Beta 1 test, adding fresh content, a bigger map, and some sweet perks. And here’s the kicker: we’re now live on the MAIN NET! That means all cosmetics, emotes, and EMBER tokens are fully on-chain, ready to be collected, traded, or just shown off to make everyone else jealous. No resets, no redos. This is it.

But listen up—don’t expect sunshine and roses. Early Access is raw. Bugs? Check. Rough edges? You bet. So, consider this your training ground. Report any strange glitches or terrifying bugs on our Discord or website. Remember, this isn’t “Polished Access.” It’s Early Access. Get ready to roll with the punches.

Sit Rep

Step into the chaos of Solarwood, a land scarred by a cataclysmic Flux storm. The environment is harsh and unforgiving, with vast areas left uninhabitable. As remnants of the community struggle to reclaim their home, lawlessness prevails. It's a world where bandits and rogues thrive, preying on the weak and scavenging what remains. Team up or fall victim – the choice is yours.

This storm has had an effect on the areas players can access. Here is a map of the areas you can access now - while the others will be opening up as “construction” continues.

Initial Server Location:

We will begin with a server in Singapore. So this means that while everyone can still play, those who are farther away from the server will of course have a higher ping. Once we add more servers, we will update the “UPDATES, PATCHES AND KNOWN BUGS” blog updated with these changes.

Getting Started

• Register your account. If you have not done so, please do that here.
• Once you have signed in, to play the game, simply go to play.embersword.com and click PLAY NOW
• Wallet connection is optional, but if you want those hard-earned drops, connect your EVM compatible wallet such as MetaMask.

Your Gear

You start off initially with basic weaponry, and armor. If you want to last longer than five minutes, get crafting. You will also need to craft some basic tools like an axe and pickaxe. Venture out, gather resources, and upgrade those weapons & armor, because Solarwood isn’t going to cut you any slack. Once you've made the tools, you'll need to go to your inventory (press the i key) and equip them.

PvP Confrontations

In Ember Sword, your prowess will be tested by other players in higher reward areas and arenas with thrilling PvP battles. Be warned, defeat could mean losing not just your pride but also your hard-earned resources (no on-chain cosmetic items will be lost in PVP or PVE encounters). To survive and thrive, you'll need both strategy and strength.

Mastering the Craft

Mastering the crafting of weapons, armor, and potions is crucial. Each recipe and skill you learn will enhance your capabilities and influence your journey across Thanabus. Here are some of the items you will be gathering to craft:

Trading Resources with Fellow Survivors

Solarwood’s economy is player-driven. If you want that epic gear, you’ll need resources, and that means trading. Play nice, but don’t get played. Barter, swap, and hustle your way to the top.

Your Character Appearance

Define your warrior's look from the outset with a robust selection of customization options. Stand out in battle with unique combinations of face, hair, body features, and color choices.

You can get fancy too! Solarwood offers players plenty of options for how to get skins and emotes in game and what to do with them. It’s your journey, your style. Personalize your character with seasonal skins dropped from defeated foes—equip them, merge them, or flip them on Mantle’s Mintle Market. Prefer to buy straight from the source? The Premium Shop’s got rare skins, emotes, and all the style you need without the grind.

Quests & Signposts:

In Ember Sword, those mysterious signposts marked with a '?' aren’t just decoration—they’re your ticket to adventure! Spot one of these, and you’re in for a quest that’ll have you hunting, gathering, and leveling up like a pro. Whether it’s taking down creatures or collecting resources, these quests are designed to boost your skills and fill your pockets with rewards. So next time you see a signpost, don’t just walk past it - check it out! After all, who doesn't want a little extra loot on the journey to greatness?

Beware the Beasts

The lands of Thanabus are home to creatures twisted by the planet's mysterious elements - bandits, wild boars, bears, and wolves roam with ferocious intent, alongside rogue robots turned hostile. Each encounter could be your last, so tread carefully, stay armed and hydrated.

The Power Of The Merge

Initially we will have four different rarity types for the collectibles found in-game, Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic . Find four collectibles, toss in some $EMBER, and boom: you’ve got a rarer, more valuable item. Every merge burns the old items, making the rarities that much rarer. It’s all about that scarcity flex.

Express Yourself

Communication is key to forming alliances and commanding battles. Use the in-game chat or express yourself through animated emotes – start with the basics and get more emotes from the Premium Shop.

What is on-chain & what is off-chain?

It’s important to know that you cannot buy power in Ember Sword. So all our skins for characters and weapons, as well as emotes are a crucial aspect of a player's visual identity within the game, while not upsetting the balance of true gameplay. All resources needed to level up your character and weapons are only obtainable by playing the game. Land ownership provides opportunities for players to shape the in-game world, and will be available to access at later stages of Early Access .

Our Partnership with Mantle

Mantle is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, built on top of the Ethereum blockchain. It leverages Optimistic Rollup technology to securely log transactions off-chain before settling them on-chain, offering lower transaction fees and higher throughput compared to Ethereum.

Technical Requirements

• In Early Access, Ember Sword will initially be available on desktop platforms
• As we are browser based, there is no download of the game or app required required
• A Windows PC with up-to-date versions of either Chrome or Edge is recommended

Safari is not currently supported Firefox works, but is not the recommended browser

• Mac user guide There are known visual glitches if you play on MacOS. However, IF you are on a Mac, make sure to follow these instructions before you play to remove some of the issues: 1~ In the address bar, type chrome://flags/ and press Enter. 2~ Find Choose ANGLE graphics backend and set it to OpenGL 3~ Restart chrome(press command+Q)

• If you are playing on a laptop, make sure it is connected to power

• Make sure your browser is running in “performance mode” (under graphics settings in windows)
